Tokyo Marui is not the only company that makes Automatic Electric Guns (AEGs)
in Japan. There are a few stores in Japan that create their original and unique
airsoft guns. In this issue, I would like to introduce the Type 89 airsoft gun
created by Carrot.

The Type 89 rifle is an assault rifle with a 5.56mm caliber. It was
originally created by the HOWA Machinery Co. for the National Defense Forces of
Japan in 1989. Currently, Carrot is the only company that makes an airsoft
version of this rifle.

The gun operates on a Version 2 mechbox, which is exactly like the one used
in M4A1s created by Tokyo Marui. In addition, the cylinder and the chamber are
upgraded with Systema parts.
The body of the gun is designed purely by Carrot. Most of the gun is made out
of dense plywood and the outer barrel and the bipod are all made out of steel
for durability and realism. This airsoft gun is quite powerful, so in addition
of the amazing detail and beauty on this gun, it is also an excellent weapon for
outdoor airsoft games.

The Type 89 airsoft rifle with blue paint weighs exactly the same as the real
steal version of the Type 89 and it is frequently used for training purposes.
This item is admired and popular by many military players in Japan. These
airsoft guns are all handmade with care by Carrot, so these guns must be ordered
from them to purchase it. The price of the Type 89 is 158,000 yen.
There are plans of making a “kuutei” stock and a telescopic stock for M4s in
Japan. The amount of custom parts and guns in Japan continue to grow every year!
I am hoping to continue writing reviews for new guns and parts out in Japan.
Please look forward to my next article. Thank you!
