More Cosplay Ideas
You still have time to get ready for the 2005 ASH BASH Cosplay contest. Some good places to get ideas are: anime, manga, movies, and video games. You can do yourself up as your favorite characters. Historical costumes are great too! Pretty much anything goes.
The winner will be chosen by the staff of ARMS Magazine and will receive an awesome prize. For those of you unfamiliar with cosplay, it is a Japanese term for costume play. It is very similar to Masquerade. In Japan, cosplay fans will recreate characters from science fiction to fantasy, from medieval to military. It’s a chance for fans to go for broke and dress up as their favorite characters.

This month we look at some more ideas

Left: Dark Destructoid from Kikaida
Above: PLA fighter

Some other costume ideas:
Vash the Stampede from the anime series Trigun.
Tim the Enchanter from Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Stormtrooper from Star Wars.
The Nazi assassin (Kronen) or the Big Red Guy himself from Hellboy
A civil war soldier.
Robocop
The Witch King of Angmar, the Head Ring Wraith from The Lord of the Rings.
The Orc General from The Return of the King.

We encourage all of you to participate in the cosplay contest.

Here are the parameters:
1. Costume must be original and unique.
2. Science fiction, fantasy, historical, and self invented costumes are all legal.
3. For historical re-enactors anything from the Vietnam War period back to the stone age is legal.
4. Although we encourage it, contest participants are not required to play in costume. If you do plan on playing in costume, be sure that your costume meets the Airsoft Hawaii safety requirements.
5. The winner will be chosen by the staff of ARMS Magazine, and will receive a great prize.

Stay tuned for more costuming pictures and always check the ASH BASH site for additional rules and regulations.

Don’t forget, if you want to discuss the ASH BASH, check out the forums at the Hawaii Airsoft and APOH.net websites.
